The Sisters of Saint Joseph are proud to host the 12th Annual Artist's Soul Art Show from April 24- May 3, 2015 at the SSJ Motherhouse located at 150 French Road in Rochester. The exhibit is open Saturdays 1pm to 5pm, Sundays noon to 4pm, and Monday through Friday, noon to 5pm. Admission is free. The public is also invited to a special Opening Reception Friday, April 24 from 7pm to 9pm.
The Artist's Soul Art Show will feature the work of 25 artists from the Rochester area, including five Sisters of Saint Joseph. The exhibit includes original works in oil, watercolor, acrylic, pastel, and photography as well as prints and notecards.
This year’s featured artist is David Braun. David, a self taught artist, began painting as a hobby while working as a mechanical designer at Gleason Works in Rochester. His inspiration comes from the natural beauty of the four seasons in New York State and recently, the interesting porches and windows of older homes in the area. Gardens, flowers and sailboats have also found their way into his paintings.
A portion of the proceeds from the Artist's Soul Art Show benefits the SSJ Ministry Fund. The fund helps support the work of our Sisters in education, health and pastoral care and social service.
