The Second Time Around Players' roots go back to the 1970s when the Upstairs Youth Agency was formed to work with teens in the city of Rochester. An important activity of the agency was putting on plays featuring those teens and the original music and lyrics written by Tony Falzano. In 2011, the “teens” reunited as the Second Time Around Players to perform a new Falzano musical, with the addition of experienced local direction and talent. That musical, performed at the Fielding NextStage at Geva to sold-out audiences, raised thousands of dollars for the education program at Geva. In 2012, that production was repeated and raised more funds for Geva and for the two Rochester Catholic urban parish elementary schools. As a result of these successes, the Second Time Around Players became a troupe for performing original music productions, assisting not-for-profit organizations dedicated to enhancing the lives of all people in the greater Rochester area.
This year's performance is another original musical production by Tony Falzano, directed by Charles Palella. This uplifting musical will make you laugh and touch your heart. Through songs of hope, faith and love, the
difficult waters of growing up are navigated by a young couple with the support of their community. Join us for a night of original music to inspire you, so we can inspire the next generation together! The entertaining and uplifting
one act revue is performed in the support of two great causes: the educational program at Geva; and the Sisters of Saint Joseph Community Outreach programs. For details on tickets CLICK HERE
