SJNC Celebrates 30th Anniversary

Jen Sahrle, SJNC Executive Director, speaking at open house

St. Joseph’s Neighborhood Center held a community health fair and open house to kick off its 30th anniversary celebration. More than 150 people attended the event on Friday, December 8. At least a dozen community partners were on hand to provide attendees with free health referrals, guidance, and screenings. An open house followed and included remarks from the Center’s Executive Director Jen Sahrle as well as Sister Christine Wagner, former executive director, about the Sisters’ founding of SJNC. Congressman Joe Morelle, Monroe County Chief Diversity Officer David Scott, and Rochester City Mayor Malik Evans also were in attendance, sharing their sentiments about the good work the Center does in providing health care, counseling, and supportive services to the uninsured and under-insured. Since its opening, SJNC has served approximately 35,000 patients.
