About
The Sisters of Saint Joseph also work in Diocesan schools and in parishes as teachers, pastoral associates, volunteer coordinators and many other positions. Sisters have also held the position of Pastoral
Administrator which was created by the Diocese of Rochester in 1994. This position,
traditionally held by a priest pastor, carries responsibility for the daily
operation of a parish, including worship, sacraments, finances, maintenance,
and planning. Pastoral Administrators are
appointed by the Bishop for a term of four years. The term may be renewed twice
for a maximum service of twelve years. Most recently, Sisters Karen Dietz (St. Rose, St. Agnes, and St. Paul) and Joan Cawley (Church of the Resurrection, Fairport) held these positions.
