Transition at St. Joseph's Northside

September 11, 2018

This fall brings important changes to St. Joseph’s Northside. With grateful hearts for her many years of leadership and care, we share with you the news of Sister Peg Brennan’s retirement as Director of St. Joseph’s Northside.

Sister Peg started the ministry in 2005 to help people in the northwest part of the city of Rochester. Since opening, St. Joseph’s Northside has been a constant presence, providing a safe haven for a neighborhood dealing with serious issues like poverty, prostitution and drugs. Over the years, Sister Peg and her volunteers have welcomed hundreds of guests for a meal, to connect with others, or to learn about resources that could help get their lives on track.

To continue the work of this valuable ministry of presence, the Leadership Team has hired Traci DeLario as Program Coordinator. Traci most recently worked at House of Mercy and Villa of Hope. She has a Masters of Social Work and attended Nazareth and Brockport colleges.

Sister Peg will continue her presence at St. Joseph’s Northside until the end of September.

During this time of transition, Sister Beth LeValley has graciously been providing assistance and we are deeply appreciative of her support. We also are grateful for the continuing presence of our Sister and lay volunteers and will be providing updates on specific needs in the next few months.

As St. Joseph’s Northside moves through this time of change and transition, Sister Peg and Traci are grateful for your prayers and support for the neighbors St. Joseph’s Northside serves and the community of volunteers and friends who support its mission.
