Sister Carol Cimino was recently honored for her meaningful impact on Catholic Education. Sister Carol was among several people to receive the 2022 Lighting the Fire for Catholic Education award at the Catholic School Administrators Association of New York State Gathering and Gala celebration on Sunday, November 13.
Sister Carol has an extensive background in Catholic education, serving in a variety of positions as teacher, principal, development director, and consultant. From 1987 to 2003 she was the Executive Director of the CSAANYS. From 2002-2013 she was a national religion consultant for the William H. Sadlier publishing company and, in that position traveled to all 50 US states to conduct workshops, keynotes, and consultancies. In addition, Sister Carol has served as an adjunct consultant with Catholic School Management Inc, and associate professor in the Catholic School Leadership program at Manhattan College. In 2018, she retired as the Superintendent of Schools for the Diocese of Buffalo. In that position Sister Carol oversaw 50 elementary and high schools in an eight-county area of Western New York. Today she continues her active role in Catholic education as a consultant.
