Nine juniors at The Aquinas Institute participated in a commitment ceremony for the SSJ Women’s Leadership Program on Thursday, December 8. The ceremony provided a chance for a formal acknowledgment, in front of friends and family, of the commitment that the young women are making to the two-year program. During the ceremony the students acknowledged their “potential to bring change to the world, bring community to Aquinas, and explore their God-given gifts.” SSJ Congregational President, Sister Eileen Daly, and Aquinas Community Service Coordinator, Sister Dora Christian, attended the ceremony. The SSJ Women’s Leadership Program, which began at Nazareth Academy, is offered to young women in grades 10-12 to experience personal growth and develop leadership skills that will help them throughout their lives.
