SSJ Joins Renowned Merton Panel

Sister Monica Weis was one of several invited internationally known scholars to speak during The International Thomas Merton Society’s 18th General Meeting on June 22-25 at Saint Mary’s College in South Bend, Indiana. Sister Monica was one of five renowned panelists for a plenary session on "Women Who Helped Us Know Merton." The ITMS holds a General Meeting every other year. These forums produce lively exchanges, spiritual renewal and new scholarly Merton research on an international scale. Sister Monica, a professor emerita of English at Nazareth University, is a former vice president and board member of the ITMS. She has also written three books as well as numerous articles and reviews on the famed Trappist Monk.
