Sister Ireny Rosa da Silva was born in Brazil. She entered the SSJ Congregation from the parish of Nossa Senhora da Imaculada Conceição (Our Lady of the Immaculate Conception), Paranaiguara, Brazil.

“I have been retired as a school secretary in Uberlândia since May 2024,” says Sister Ireny. “But I continue as a pastoral agent and helping to take care of our home.

“I maintain my friendships and good contact with my family. I am happy this way and I think I am doing what I can to help my Sisters, the Church and others in need.

“Forty years have gone by quickly, but it has been very good: I have learned a lot and managed to do a little too.”

Sister Ireny is also in the fifth year of her second term as the SSJ Brazil Regional Coordinator.
