Sister Julia Clare Richards became a Sister of Saint Joseph in 1944. Sister Julia Clare served in Catholic schools, religious education programs, and elder care, all around the Diocese including Holy Rosary, Rochester; St. John’s, Greece; St. Mary, Canandaigua; St. Mary, Dansville; St. Agnes, Avon; St. Mary, Elmira; St. Patrick Junior High, Elmira; Nazareth Academy; St. James, Waverly; and Sisters Care, Elmira.

In 2020 while celebrating her 75th Jubilee as an SSJ, Sister reflected, “Throughout these years, I have been blessed to enjoy the growth of many friendships with those young in life as well as those in their golden years.”
