Sister Mary Katherine LaRock (formerly Sister Benjamin)
“From the earliest years of my life, I was taught by the Sisters of Saint Joseph–from kindergarten through eighth grade and for one year at St. Agnes High School. I believe that in these special places the seeds of my vocation were planted.
“After my freshman year, our family moved to Ohio, and for the next three years I had one desire–to return to Rochester and enter the Sisters of Saint Joseph.
“During my 60 years, I have taught at St. Augustine in Rochester, Holy Trinity in Webster and St. Stanislaus in Rochester. From there, I began working as an office assistant at Nazareth Hall and then at Nazareth Elementary School. I believe that my work in the office gave me the opportunity to serve teachers, children and staff, to meet the families of our students, and to be a strong supporter of Catholic school education. The last four years that I have lived at our Motherhouse, I have been involved in our Altar Breads Department. This ministry kept me in touch with our Diocesan parishes.
“I continue my ministry of prayers and presence for our Motherhouse staff, and the many intentions our neighbors request.”
